What is a counter DMCA notice?
A counter DMCA notice, also called a counter-notification, is a formal response disputing a DMCA takedown request.
When we report your leaked content to Google, Google may forward the notice to the website hosting it. The website may then submit a counter-notification claiming that the content was reported by mistake or that it has permission to use it.
Why might a website dispute a report?
In our experience, disputes can arise when reports involve:
- Affiliate websites claiming permission to use promotional content
- Entire pages containing multiple items
- Search results pages
- Tags or category pages
A counter-notification does not automatically mean the website’s claim is valid. It means the website is formally challenging the removal request.
Why do I need to submit links individually?
Please submit one direct link per request, pointing to the specific photo, video or post containing your content. This helps us identify and review each item accurately.
Whenever possible, avoid submitting broad search results, tags or category pages. If you are unsure which link to provide, contact our support team for guidance.
