Do I need to give you my legal name?

Not necessarily.

We care about your safety and privacy online and offline. When you subscribe to any of our plans, we may file DMCA takedown notices on your behalf without asking you to provide your legal name. However, if you want us to monitor your legal name for unauthorized use, we can scan your legal name as well upon your request.

Where appropriate, we may request additional information to verify your identity or confirm ownership of the content for enforcement purposes.

In general, our takedown notices that we send to Google or the websites include the information you have chosen to provide when you registered on our service for enforcement purposes. So, if you do not want your legal name shared on our DMCA notices, we recommend that you do not use it as your account name.
