Are you able to send takedown notices outside of U.S. DMCA law?

Even though DMCA is a US law with limited jurisdiction, we can send DMCA notices to countries that do not apply DMCA laws. Some websites outside the US MIGHT voluntarily accept and process DMCA takedown notices. In some cases, such notices may encourage a website operator to remove infringing content even where the DMCA does not directly apply.

Unfortunately, some websites and hosting providers operating in certain jurisdictions, including countries like Bulgaria, Hong Kong, Luxembourg, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Russia, Singapore, and China, may ignore DMCA notices and choose not to respond to these claims.

In these cases, we can help by delisting the content from Google and Bing search results to reduce its visibility and traffic.

If you still want the content removed from the website itself, you might need to consult a lawyer and consider taking legal action in the relevant jurisdiction against the site. While this can be costly and there’s no guarantee of success, it might help prevent further leaks in the future.
