Registering your copyright is a separate process that can provide additional evidentiary benefits in certain jurisdictions.
Your copyright registration comes with an official certificate issued by the Canadian Copyright Office. This legal document serves as evidence of your copyright registration and may establish ownership, subject to the laws and procedures of the relevant jurisdiction. Depending on the applicable law, the registration certificate may also serve as supporting evidence of ownership in legal or administrative proceedings across 182 member countries of the Berne Convention.

Our $120 one-time fee includes the government registration fee, paperwork preparation of the required documentation, filing with the Canadian Copyright Office, and delivery of your official certificate.
If you’re a Legend plan member, one copyright registration is included with your subscription at no additional cost. Any additional copyright registrations are available for the standard fee.
The duration of copyright protection depends on the applicable law and may vary by jurisdiction. In many countries, copyright protection generally lasts for the author’s lifetime plus 70 years, although exceptions and different terms may apply.
